Porter turned out to be a surprise answer for a man from Bengaluru who had a problem finding a ride. Pathik, a commuter in the city, was frustrated by the endless wait times on Uber and Ola and was forced to book a Porter two-wheeler, an app usually employed for moving goods, to get to his office. Pathik shared his experience on social media and posted a now viral photo of himself on the Porter bike riding pillion and the caption, Had to porter myself to office today because no Ola, Uber.

Since he posted it on February 6, his photo has received over 32,000 views and has received a lot of comments from online users. It has become a “peak Bengaluru moment” and people have laughed at and applauded the idea for being hilarious and ingenious at the same time.

Some users could relate to his plight and commented that they have also thought of doing the same but never put it into action. Others gave suggestions on how to improve the traffic in Bengaluru and mentioned changing the working hours to avoid peak hours.

A similar situation was observed in another incident where a person in Bengaluru was stuck on a flyover for more than 10 minutes. He was surprised to receive a safety alert from Rapido when it detected that his vehicle had been idle for some time. The man later posted the experience on social media group and said that traffic jam made him delayed and thus the safety check was triggered.

Cabs that are gotten from apps also have features that watch for long stops to ensure that the passenger is okay. However, such novel measures are useful, it is still possible to tell how sometimes specific for Bengaluru traffic and how people learn to solve their transport problems—using a delivery service app for personal transportation, for example.
