Bengaluru was rocked by a gruesome case as a 20-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested for allegedly killing his three-month pregnant wife and staying in the same house for two days before fleeing. The accused, Shivam from Kushinagar, reportedly murdered his 22-year-old wife Sumana following a domestic argument. Neighbours alerted police after noticing a foul smell, leading to the discovery of Sumana’s decomposed body in their Bengaluru home.

Police revealed the couple had been together for five years and married just six months ago against their families’ wishes. Living in Bengaluru for five months, their relationship had reportedly become strained, with frequent arguments over Shivam’s suspicions of infidelity. On Monday night, after another fight, the couple slept in separate rooms. Shivam claims he tried to wake her up the next morning, and upon no response, cooked and ate his meal before heading to work.

He returned the next evening, consumed alcohol, ate again, and still did not check on Sumana. Only the following morning did he realise she was dead and fled. He was arrested a day after police found the body. Authorities await post-mortem results to confirm the exact cause of death.
