Aarav Hanoy, a 21-year-old man from Kannur, Kerala, is suspected of murdering his girlfriend, Maya Gogoi Deka, who was 19 years old. They were staying in a hotel room in Bengaluru. The incident occurred on November 23.

Hanoy, a business administration graduate, allegedly stabbed Deka to death in a three-star hotel in the Indiranagar area. The couple had been dating for six months. After the murder, Hanoy left the hotel on November 26, booking a cab to the railway station. He turned off his phone before leaving.

Police reports indicate that Hanoy and Deka had checked into the hotel on November 23 for one night. He later extended their stay until November 26. Hotel staff became worried when he left without responding to their calls. When they checked Deka’s room, they found her body in a pool of blood.

Investigators believe Deka was killed on November 24. Her phone had been inactive since then, suggesting she died the following day. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage, Call Detail Records, and interviewing the cab driver who picked up Hanoy. Evidence shows that Hanoy may have brought a knife and a nylon rope with him.

Jealousy and obsession may have played a role in the murder. Hanoy and Deka’s relationship was reportedly unstable. Their phone records revealed thousands of messages between them, indicating tensions. Investigators are still working to understand Hanoy’s motive.

Hanoy graduated in June and had been working as a student counselor in Bengaluru. Deka was originally from Gauhati, Assam, and had moved to Bengaluru with her sister after losing their parents.

The police are actively searching for Hanoy, who is currently in hiding. They believe he has limited access to money. Authorities remain optimistic about apprehending him soon to uncover the motive behind the crime. Hanoy’s quick departure, phone shutdown, and journey to the railway station suggest a planned escape from the city.
