Jewellery heist panic gripped Bengaluru’s Magadi Road on Tuesday evening after three masked men stormed Ram Jewellers and looted 184 grams of gold in just 18 seconds. The shocking robbery, caught on CCTV, shows the trio entering the Bhairaveshwara Complex store moments before closing, armed with what appeared to be firearms.
Shopowner Kannaiya Lal and his staff were caught off-guard. The robbers threatened them at gunpoint and grabbed ornaments from the display. Though Lal attempted to resist, he was quickly overpowered. Nearby shopkeepers, alerted by the commotion, arrived too late—the robbers had already vanished.
Authorities suspect the firearms could have been dummies, but this is under investigation. The Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case and are closely examining surveillance footage to track down the culprits. Initial evidence and eyewitness testimonies point to the robbers being seasoned criminals due to the speed and precision of the heist.
A few suspects are currently under interrogation as the investigation deepens. The dramatic nature of this jewellery heist has left the local community shaken, prompting calls for heightened security across city jewellery outlets.
