
In a disturbing incident in Bengaluru, a man has alleged that his friend was brutally assaulted and coerced to chant “Jai Shri Ram” by a group of unidentified attackers. The incident reportedly took place last Sunday between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM in the Sampigehalli police station limits near AJBJ grounds in Hegde Nagar.
The complainant, Zameer, who works as a mechanic, stated in his police report that he had stopped near the area to relieve himself when a group of six unidentified men approached him. According to Zameer, the group began questioning his presence, hurled abuses, and physically assaulted both him and his friend, Wasim.
While Zameer managed to escape, Wasim was allegedly beaten with a stick. Zameer further claimed that when Wasim cried out “Allah” in pain, the attackers tried to intimidate him and forced him to chant “Jai Shri Ram.”
Following the complaint, police have registered an FIR and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the accused. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and questioning locals for leads. The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about communal tensions and safety in the city.
Police have assured that strict action will be taken against those involved, and appealed for calm while the investigation continues.
