A tragic discovery was made on Wednesday morning as the body of a Nigerian woman was found abandoned near Telecom Layout on Bettahalasur Main Road, on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The incident has raised alarms, with authorities strongly suspecting foul play in what appears to be a case of murder.

The 30-year-old foreign national was discovered by locals around 8:30 am, who immediately alerted the police. Preliminary investigations by Bengaluru’s Chikkajala police indicate signs of a violent assault. The woman had a visible injury on her forehead and showed indications of being strangled, leading authorities to suspect she may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped in the isolated location.

Based on documents recovered at the scene, the woman has been tentatively identified as Loweth from Cross River, Nigeria. However, police have not yet confirmed her full identity pending verification of her documents. “We have information about her name and residence, but we need to confirm all details after a thorough document check,” said one investigating officer.

The woman’s immigration status is also under scrutiny, with officials checking whether she had a valid visa or was overstaying in India. The body has been sent for postmortem at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital. The autopsy is expected to reveal more about the time and cause of death.

The police have registered a case of murder and are exploring all possible angles, including whether the crime involved personal enmity, trafficking, or other motives. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected as the postmortem and document verifications proceed.
