Sonu Nigam Bengaluru concert controversy has exploded across social media after a video went viral showing the singer confronting a rude fan during his live performance. The incident, which unfolded during a concert in the city, saw the veteran playback singer being heckled by a young man demanding he sing only in Kannada. The tension escalated to the point where Sonu Nigam was forced to address the issue from the stage, linking the incident to rising hate in the name of language, especially in the backdrop of the recent Pahalgam attack.

Following the uproar, an FIR was filed against Nigam at the Avlahalli Police Station, prompted by a complaint from the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV). Bengaluru District Police even issued him a notice within days. Reacting to the storm, Sonu Nigam issued a heartfelt note, asserting his deep respect for Kannada culture, music, and people. He stressed that Kannada is his second language when it comes to work and stated he always prepares a full set of Kannada songs for concerts in Karnataka.

Nigam, now 51, expressed that he won’t tolerate humiliation and was shocked by being threatened on stage. He stated that he tried handling the situation politely but was forced to stand his ground. He emphasized that no artist should be bullied in the name of language and urged the public to decide for themselves who was wrong.

Despite the controversy, Sonu Nigam reaffirmed his love for Karnataka and expressed full faith in the law. He concluded his note by saying he will continue cherishing the support from Karnataka, no matter the outcome.
