4 brave children who are fighting cancer were given a once in a lifetime experience of becoming police officers for a day with the help of a wonderful initiative taken by Bengaluru Police on World Cancer Day. For a few moments, these young heroes were able to escape from their daily sufferings and enjoy happiness and pride in khaki uniforms.

The special event was organized at Bengaluru Traffic Management Centre (TMC) where the children were received with a grand salute and a warm welcome by senior officers including City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda. The children also received a guard of honour and the children went around the TMC to see how real time traffic of Bengaluru is being monitored and managed.

This made the children to be excited, they also rode in police patrol vehicles, interacted with the officers and issued mock orders to the junior personnel. For a few hours they were not small patients but small officers, small officers who were able to live their dreams in uniform.

The children, who plan to become a police officer or join the army in future, were encouraged and motivated by this experience. The smiles of the children showed that this was a good gesture.

Similarly, Shimoga Police also made one more child happy and fulfilled his dream. Ajaan Khan, who has a severe heart condition, was appointed as a police inspector for a day. He wore a uniform and carried out normal police functions directed by Shimoga SP Mithun Kumar. He and his family were very happy to see this happen. These initiatives are a testimony to the courage and spirit of children who fight the daily battles of their lives.
