Bengaluru tragedy unfolded in Gonakanahalli village of Hoskote taluk, where a couple’s disturbing act left two children dead and the wife in police custody. Police revealed that Shivu, 32, and his wife Manjula had ongoing marital disputes, financial struggles, and emotional distress. Shivu, who had been injured in an earlier accident and stayed mostly at home, reportedly suspected his wife frequently, adding to the family tension.

According to investigators, the couple had been contemplating ending their lives but decided not to leave their children behind. On the day of the shocking incident, the couple allegedly consumed alcohol before killing their 11-year-old daughter Chandrakala by strangulation and drowning, followed by their 7-year-old son Uday Surya in the same manner.

Afterward, Manjula attempted to hang herself, but Shivu, already unwell and vomiting, instructed her to fetch food. When she returned, she found him dead by hanging. Distraught, Manjula wanted to speak with her father before trying again. She approached a neighbour’s house to make the call, where her shocking confession alerted locals. Police soon rushed to the spot and took her into custody for questioning.

This tragic case highlights the devastating impact of unresolved conflicts and mental health struggles within families.
